Children at Mount Home Baptist

Current research indicates that 75% of today's families attend church...

  • NOT because of the dynamic worship program...
  • NOT because of the quality of Biblical interpretation and application from the pulpit...
  • NOT because of the fellowship they enjoy through adult activities...
  • BUT BECAUSE they desire a quality Christian education for their children.

At Mount Home, we recognize the importance of reaching children while they are young. A recent survey shows that 85% of all people who come to Christ, do so between the ages of 4 and 14 years old.

We believe that reaching and discipling children is of the utmost importance. The child in children's church today may become the leaders of the church tomorrow.

Schedule of Weekly Children's Activities

The children's ministries of Mount Home Baptist Church seek to present the gospel of Christ to each child, disciple them in the Word of God, and train them to serve Christ with their spiritual gifts and God-given talents.

Evangelism, discipleship, and equipping the child to serve Christ is accomplished through our Sunday School, Children's Church,
AWANA, and VBS programs. We look forward to ministering to your child and welcome the opportunity to reach them for eternity!

Sunday Morning
9:15 - Age/Grade level Sunday School
10:15 - Kinder Kids (Preschool Worship)
Ages 3-5 worship the Lord through singing, prayer, interactive Bible stories, and Bible verse memorization.
10:15 - King's Kids (Elementary Age Worship)

Every Sunday, kids from kindergarten through sixth grade meet in an atmosphere designed to capture their attention & make church a fun and life-changing place to be. We help kids experience singing songs of praise and worship arranged just for kids, through illustrated sermons, and powerful Bible lessons that reinforce what they've been learning. We are reinforcing Christian values and character and showing them ways to apply these in their day-to-day lives. One of our goals is to train them to be the Christian leaders of tomorrow by giving them opportunities to lead and learn how to be an example others will want to follow.

Sunday Evening
5:30 - Kinder Praise (Preschool Choir)
Kids ages 3-5 praise the Lord through singing and playing musical instruments.Performances are during evening worship.
5:30 Praise Kids (Grades 1-6)

Two musicals are performed each year - Spring and Christmas.
Handbells are played during the summer months.

Wednesday Evenings - Awana Clubs
The word AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from a Bible verse in 2 Timothy 2:15: "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed , rightly dividing the Word of Truth."

AWANA is a wonderful tool for the kids in our church. It makes Scripture memorization fun and it is geared to the needs of our children. AWANA works! God uses this ministry to reach boys and girls for Christ. The three basic segments to the typical AWANA evening activities are: handbook (Scripture memory) time, game (fun) time, and council (Bible Story) time.

The Awana Cubbies is a club for preschoolers and is built on two premises:

  • Young children can and should receive spiritual training.
  • Home is the primary place for spiritual training.
  • Our preschool program meets these needs through …
  • Fun – and lots of it!

Awana is fun with a purpose – to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, crafts, awards and other activities transform our preschool program into a lively weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Awana Sparks is the Awana club for children in kindergarten through second grade. It builds on the material taught in our preschool clubs. The curriculum takes kids a step deeper into God's Word while giving unsaved boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ. After being immersed in solid foundational teaching at the preschool level, boys and girls frequently come to an understanding of their need to trust Christ as their personal Savior while in Sparks.

The name Truth & Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach third- through fifth-grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many of today’s young people will become tomorrow’s church leaders. T&T is the program that trains the leaders of tomorrow — today.
